SIXGOLDS
CALENDAR

NOTE:- The 2007 Calendar is very confused this year with information in a very volatile state. until I get confirmation of the dates times and places treat everything as suspect even with a tick at the end of the entry. I just print the stuff from the safety of the bunker.

NOTE:- There are two ways of spelling Tullymore or Tollymore. However, Tollymore was in records dated 1611 when the Maginnes family of Upper Iveagh received a grant including the Estate of Tollymore, from James I. Therefore, henceforth the spelling used will be the most ancient form "TOLLYMORE".   See Valhalla

Dear fellow member
www.sixgolds.com is still the most comprehensive and reliable source for dates.
Don’t forget the Winter Postal. Your best result needs to be in for the 14th (with your entry form if you have omitted to send it in yet!)
May all your arrows fly true in 2007
Arthur

Sorry Arthur, I do my best to get this calendar into shape, I would like it to be as you described, but I can't do it without the help of the clubs. However there is someone forwarding information which does not reflect the decision of the clubs which causes confusion for everyone. The diamonds represent the shoots which have been re-confirmed by Lough Cuan and Banbridge. There are shoots mentioned from other sources which are not confirmed by those clubs, they are marked with crossed swords.
If this calendar is not correct it is your fault, you must keep me informed of any changes so I can publish them.
Adrian

The discussion re the calendar has been moved to the News Page.
The codes used to describe the various clubs have been dropped by SixGolds as they lead to confusion, the clubs who publish their lists don't stick to their code and other codes are simply ridiculous.

ENTRY FORM :   FIELD :   TARGET :   CONFIRMED :   RECORD STATUS :   NEEDS SORTING   FITA STAR :

If you can't get an Entry Form for a shoot, then in an emergency try using this :-   UNIVERSAL ENTRY FORM

This is a definite event and a quick check on the Irish Amateur Archery Association (IAAA - http://archery.ie) will show the event on the printable calendar.. there seems to be a problem with the monthly pages.. or http://leixliparchers.com... or even from the Contact pages from the IAAA site.. Your spam filter would explain why the previous postings havn't got through to you because I usually mail through webmaster@leixliparchers.com

UPDATE 2nd March 2007
Adrian
Just browsing sixgolds after getting back on line after several days.
The listed LCB shoot for 8th April is spurious. This is Easter Sunday & none were planned nor applied for on this date. The NI opens are on the 21st/22md April and while BRS & Arrowhead status have been applied for my understanding is that the application was for the 31st March/1st April. I have today been speaking to Derrick Lovell at GNAS who is trying to move the dates to 21st/22nd. The 1st April date has been awarded BRS by GNAS (John Reaney has the paperwork I understand). Anything else I notice I will let you know regards
Arthur

UPDATES for inclusion Tue 27 Mar The dates that are booked by LCB are 1st April FITA Marked BRS Ballywalter 21st/22nd April FITA Combination BRS/Arrowhead Ballywalter 10th June National Animal BRS Ballywalter 30th June Double American Ards Rugby Club 2nd September (Ron Bell) (BRS applied for) (Hydebank or Redhall) 28th October Ulster Forester (Hydebank or Redhall) 18th November Big Game (Hydebank or Redhall) The June outing was planned as a Stamp and we had planned to apply for a BRS for the event only to be informed that the records had been archived and no further records were being accepted. This means it will have to be a FITA or National Animal. The Committee feels that Squad selection ought to be spread over a longer period (and should be spread around the Clubs) and the Ron Bell would thus be an ideal event to start the ball rolling, hence it will probably be a FITA. If we can get the Ron Bell back to a 2 day event so much the better.

Dear Fellow Secretary,
There seems to be some confusion regarding calendar dates following the announcements made after the Bluebell shoot on Sunday.

I can confirm that the next Field shoot in N. Ireland will be at Ballywalter on the 10th June 2008. This will be a National Animal round and will be a British Record Status shoot. Entry forms have already been emailed to you, if you require this sent again please let me know or they can be downloaded from www.sixgolds.com Please let your club members know this is the case.

In addition can I remind you that, although it has been omitted from the printed NIAS calendar, a Double American is to be held at the Ards Rugby Club on the 30th June. GNAS award a cup for the highest Double American score recorded in the year, so make a note of this date
Regards
Arthur Halligey
